Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 July 2026 · Technophobia Limited · questable.co.uk

The short version. Questable is a free app with no adverts, and it collects nothing about you. Everything stays inside each person’s own copy of the app, on their own device — nothing is sent to us or anywhere else. There are no accounts, no logins and no tracking. The only party that might collect a name or email is the individual organiser running a hunt, and when they do, that is their responsibility — not ours.

1. Who we are

“Questable”, “we” and “us” means Technophobia Limited, which makes the Questable app and website. An organiser is a person or group who uses Questable to run their own treasure hunt. Players are the people taking part.

2. What Questable collects — nothing

We do not collect, store, or receive any personal information about players or organisers through the app. Questable is self-contained: a hunt is built on a phone and shared as a file, and once a hunt is loaded it runs fully offline. Everything is contained within each person’s own app on their own device. We operate no servers that receive your personal data, we do not sell or share data, and there is no third-party analytics or advertising software in the app.

3. What the app holds on your device

To play, a team enters a team name of their own choosing — it does not have to be a real name. The app also creates a random identifier on the device so that one phone represents one team. This information stays on the phone (and, for the hunt to work, within the shared quest); it is not linked to your identity and is not sent to us.

4. Organisers and the data they collect

An organiser may choose to collect a participant’s name and email address — for example to invite people to their event, or to contact winners. If they do:

  • The organiser is the data controller for that information and is responsible for how it is collected, used and stored, under applicable data-protection law.
  • They collect it through their own means — Questable provides the game, not a sign-up system, and does not receive, see, or process that name or email.
  • Any questions about an event’s data should go to the organiser who ran it.

Questable provides the platform only. The organiser runs the event, sets any prize and their own terms, and is responsible for it.

5. Children

Questable is designed to be kid-safe: no accounts, no chat, no free-text messaging, and no personal details are requested by the app — only a team name.

6. Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If an organiser holds your details, contact that organiser to exercise your rights over the data they collected.

7. Changes & contact

We may update this policy; the date above shows the latest version. Questions? Email hello@questable.co.uk.
